With the blessing and presence of Bishop Elie Bechara Haddad, couples spent a day at Beit El Ansara reflecting on themselves as individuals and as couples, through prayer, a film, personal questionnaires and sharing.
With the blessing and in the presence of His Excellency Bishop Elie Bechara Haddad, Archbishop of the diocese, Metanoia Listening Center organized a formation day for members of the Family Committee and some couples under the title "Fully me – stronger together," on Friday 1 May at Beit El Ansara in Kfarfalous. The day opened with morning prayer, meditation and praise, after which everyone watched a ten-minute guided film. Mr. Joseph El-Khoury, director of Metanoia Listening Center, explained the dimensions of the film and the parts of the theme; then each participant took half an hour of personal time to answer a fifteen-question exercise designed to help each person meet themselves, apart from their role as a spouse.
This was followed by half an hour as a couple, during which spouses shared their answers and discussed them with an open heart, then answered together questions that helped them read the nature of their relationship and identify what each wants individually and what they want as a couple.
After a coffee break the group gathered and shared what had surprised them about themselves that day, what they had discovered about their relationship, and what they wanted to take away from the gathering, writing it on the board.
After lunch and a break, the couples split into two teams – the women and the men – and competed in a question game designed to help them better understand how the other thinks. The day ended with a spontaneous time of friendship after a forced absence caused by the situation in the country.
