Family Committee Camp 2026: United in Love… Despite Our Differences

The fourth family camp, held from 4 to 6 September at Beit El Ansara in Kfarfalous, combined formation on the couple relationship, effective communication and a personal review of the year.

Under the patronage and with the blessing of His Excellency Bishop Elie Bechara Haddad, Metanoia Listening Center, in cooperation with the Family Committee of the Greek Melkite Catholic Diocese of Sidon and Deir El-Qamar, organized the fourth family camp under the theme "United in love… despite our differences," from 4 to 6 September at Beit El Ansara in Kfarfalous.

On the first and second days, after morning prayer, the camp offered special formation for the committee members and for some couples who had accompanied the committee throughout the year in preparation for officially joining it. The formation focused on the couple relationship: understanding the natural differences between men and women in the way they think and see things, and each person's ability to handle situations differently from the other. This helps couples grow in their relationship and understand and respect their differences. "Effective communication" also had its place in the formation. After each topic was introduced, every participant took personal time to answer a special questionnaire that helped clarify their thoughts; then each couple met to share their answers, and finally everyone gathered to share and exchange experiences between couples. The new couples experienced the "couple's pause," which helped them communicate with one another in a new way.

The last day of the camp was dedicated to a personal review of the year as a whole, at the personal, couple and community levels. In the afternoon, the longstanding couples renewed their commitment to the committee, and the new couples were welcomed as they pledged to take up their responsibility as members of the Family and Life Committee of the Greek Melkite Catholic Diocese of Sidon and Deir El-Qamar.
