The diocesan family groups spent a weekend in Deir El Harf reviewing their relationships as couples, with games, a spiritual Christmas evening, a walk among the pines and meditation on Zacchaeus.
The Family and Life Committee of the Greek Melkite Catholic Diocese of Sidon and Deir El-Qamar organized a weekend for the diocese's family groups, held in Deir El Harf with the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Lyon on 3–4 November 2018.
The weekend began with a time of getting to know one another; then each person reviewed their relationship with their spouse before sharing openly with them what they had discovered, after which everyone shared their experiences. In the evening, the participants enjoyed a recreational evening with games about married life. Saturday ended with a spiritual Christmas evening in which the spouses gave each other spiritual gifts.
Sunday began with a spiritual walk among the pine trees, where we glorified the Lord through His creation. We then shared about the principle and foundation of our lives before meditating on the Gospel of Jesus' encounter with Zacchaeus the tax collector. We then shared about Jesus' death and resurrection, and the weekend ended with a prayer of thanksgiving, a review of the weekend and the gathering of its fruits.
