About 1,600 people from the four dioceses of South Lebanon gathered at Dar Al Inaya in Salhiyeh for the third Family Day, with a talk by Father Nabil Chehade SJ, 26 sharing circles, programs for children and youth, and Mass.
Metanoia Listening Center organized Family Day 3 at Dar Al Inaya in Salhiyeh on Sunday 3 July 2022. The gathering brought together about 1,600 people from the four dioceses of the South: the Greek Melkite Catholic Diocese of Sidon and Deir El-Qamar, the Maronite Diocese of Sidon, the Melkite Archdiocese of Tyre and the Maronite Archdiocese of Tyre.
On arrival, a specialized team looked after the children under three (40 children) throughout the day, which allowed their parents to take an active part. The MIDADE movement took care of children under thirteen (400 children), preparing a program full of games and age-appropriate activities. Young people aged 15 to 18 (165 young men and women) enjoyed a special day prepared by the Young Christian Students.
After the welcome, the participants over 18 (870 people) went to the meeting hall for breakfast before the program began with prayer. Father Professor Nabil Chehade then introduced the theme and posed questions for discussion in the dialogue circles. The participants divided into 26 sharing circles, where they shared their personal experiences with one another. After a break with cake and juice, they listened to the talk given by Father Nabil Chehade SJ.
At one o'clock it was time for lunch and the fiesta. The participants then went to the Mass, sung by the Salvatorian Youth choir.
