The Family Committee and families from two family groups spent a weekend of sharing, contemplative walking and a talk on serving as a couple, and celebrated the center's eighth anniversary with Bishop Elie Haddad.
Metanoia Listening Center, in cooperation with the Family Committee of the Greek Melkite Catholic Diocese of Sidon and Deir El-Qamar, organized a relational and spiritual weekend on 4 and 5 November at the convent of the Sisters of Saint Joseph in Deir El Harf.
The Family Committee gathered with families from the family groups "You Are My Joy" and "The Annunciation" for two days full of experiences. On the first day they explored a meaningful relational theme and shared personal and couple experiences.
They began the second day with a personal contemplative walk in nature, listening to God's voice through the breathtaking scenery around them; then each couple spent quiet time together. After the walk we met with psychologist Mrs. Patricia Barcha Bassil for a talk titled "Serving as a Couple," in which she highlighted the importance of a couple serving together in the same ministry and its positive effect on them and on the couples who receive that service. The gathering ended with the cutting of a cake to celebrate Metanoia Listening Center's eighth anniversary.
His Excellency Bishop Elie Bechara Haddad, Archbishop of the diocese, also joined us for lunch and the anniversary celebration, and then celebrated the Divine Liturgy for the committee's families and all families.
