Opening its series of psychosocial lectures, the center's psychology department invited psychologist Father Michael Haddad to speak in Anan about fear, anxiety and how to help those who suffer from them.
Under the patronage of His Excellency Bishop Elie Bechara Haddad, Archbishop of the diocese, the psychology department of Metanoia Listening Center, in cooperation with the Family Committee, launched a series of psychosocial lectures. The first took place at the parish of Saint Barbara in Anan, under the title "Fear and Anxiety About the Future: Between Illusion and Reality." It was given by psychologist Father Michael Haddad, in the presence of the head of the psychology department, Mrs. Patricia Barcha Bassil, the center's psychologists and the Family Committee.
In his talk, Father Haddad explained the difference between anxiety and fear, how they differ from psychotic and neurotic disorders, and the role of repressed feelings. He stressed the importance of helping people going through such situations through psychologists, relaxation exercises and a great deal of love.
