In cooperation with the Waznat association, psychologist and trainer Nadine Tannous Gemayel led a training on the types, symptoms and stages of trauma, with workshops and case studies.
On Saturday 26 July 2025, Metanoia Listening Center and the Family Committee of the Greek Melkite Catholic Diocese of Sidon and Deir El-Qamar organized a training session on trauma in cooperation with the Waznat association. The session was led by psychologist and trainer Mrs. Nadine Tannous Gemayel.
Mrs. Gemayel began by defining the word "trauma": a psychological wound that produces intense fear and stress and points to a painful memory. She described the three types of trauma – acute, chronic and complex – as well as their symptoms, their causes and the six main stages after trauma. The training included a workshop to help participants understand the importance of support, especially between spouses and within groups, which makes cooperation and mutual complementarity easier. Cases in which one spouse had been through trauma were also studied: the participants divided into two circles and examined each case to learn how to read the causes of trauma and how to begin treating it.
After the training, the participants shared simple refreshments, exchanged ideas, and thanked Metanoia Listening Center for its constant invitations to meaningful gatherings that help them move forward on their journey.
