The Family Committee spent a day in North Lebanon: a walk along the Jaouz river in Kaftoun, visits to Kfarhay, the tomb of Saint Rafqa in Jrebta and the old town of Batroun.
Among Metanoia Listening Center's activities this year was a day of recreation for the Family Committee. We set off for the North, to the village of Kaftoun, where our first stop was a walk along the banks of the Jaouz river, in a wonderful atmosphere and breathtaking nature, for an hour and a half. After a break and coffee by the river, we went to the Monastery of Mar Youhanna Maroun in Kfarhay, the summer seat of the Archdiocese of Batroun, where the relic of the head of Saint Maron is kept. We then went to Jrebta to visit the tomb of Saint Rafqa.
After a break and lunch in Chabtine, we went to Batroun, where we visited the Church of Mar Estephan, the Church of Our Lady of the Sea and the Phoenician wall, and strolled through Batroun's beautiful streets. We ended our day and returned to the South, thanking God for this precious time and for a day full of variety: holy places, wonderful nature that glorifies the Creator, and the beautiful moments we lived together.
