Metanoia Listening Center hosted the three-day annual retreat of the diocesan priests, led by Father Joe Eid on how to be a sign of God's presence and a blessing among the people.
With the blessing and in the presence of His Excellency Bishop Elie Bechara Haddad, Archbishop of the Greek Melkite Catholic Diocese of Sidon and Deir El-Qamar, Metanoia Listening Center welcomed the priests of the diocese for their annual three-day retreat (30 June to 2 July 2025). The retreat was led by Father Joe Eid of the Maronite Archdiocese of Sidon, professor of Sacred Scripture at the Faculty of Theology of Antonine University and a member of the Biblical Federation, under the title "How can I be a sign of God's presence and a blessing among the people?" It drew on Abraham and the offering of Isaac, the choice of Saul, the choice of David, David and Goliath, David's sin, the call of Isaiah and the conversion of Paul.
Alongside Father Eid's talks, the retreat included adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, daily Mass and prayer. The priests of the diocese also gathered around their Archbishop and shared meals in an atmosphere of fraternity and love.
At the end of the retreat, the Archbishop chaired a general meeting with the priests, where everyone shared their experience of the retreat as well as news and developments from their parishes.
