Metanoia Listening Center hosted the annual Christmas retreat of Caritas South, led by Father Joe Eid, with sharing on the figures of the Nativity, a talk on "We saw His star" and the Divine Liturgy at Our Lady of Mantara.
Metanoia Listening Center welcomed the Caritas South family for its annual retreat in the blessed season of Christmas, in the presence of its general chaplain, Father Charles Swaya.
The retreat was led by Father Joe Eid of the Maronite Archdiocese of Sidon, professor of Sacred Scripture at the Faculty of Theology of Antonine University and a member of the Biblical Federation.
The day opened with prayer led by Father Charles Swaya. The participants then divided into four circles to share about the figures of Christmas: each chose one figure from the list – Joseph, Mary, the innkeeper, the shepherds, the angels, the Magi and the star – and shared what connects them to that figure and why they chose it. After a break, Father Eid gave the first part of his talk, "We saw His star," for an hour. After a shared meal, they gathered again; Father Eid answered their questions and completed the second part of the talk, also explaining the history of some Christmas traditions such as the tree, the star and Santa Claus.
The day ended with the Divine Liturgy at the Shrine of Our Lady of Mantara.
